Phil Mickelson's 1st Major

22" x 24"

Phil Mickelson's parents knew he was born to be a golfer when he began swinging a homemade cut-down club at age one-and-a-half, mirroring his father in their back yard. Phil went on to begin a spectacular amateur career in which he won three NCAA Championships, a U.S. Amateur title, and the PGA's Northern Telecom Open as a collegian. Other than 1999, Mickelson has captured at least one victory on the PGA Tour in every full
season as a professional, on his way to becoming one of the most popular players on tour. The major tournament victory had always eluded Mickelson until the 2004 Masters when he went down to the wire to defeat Ernie Els with a putt on the eighteenth green on Sunday. This piece recognizes that victory and includes a copy of Mickelson's scorecard from that magical Sunday in Augusta .
